Welcome, 2011

Aikss...I was thinking of creating a post about Christmas this year (2010, I mean) but it seems that I've just missed the time. Never mind, I'll just upload a few photos here, the rest will be in my Facebook =D

So, guess I gotta say "Good bye" to year 2010 and "Hello" to year 2011.

2011, a tough year ahead, with STPM my main concern. For my New year resolutions, I'll try to find some time to think about it and if possible, will post 'em up here ;-)

Once again I would like to say, "Happy 2011!!! To all my friends, best wishes to you. May you have a good year ahead and strive for the best in your targets. God bless you. Good luck!!!"

What a busy holiday!

Busy busy busy...

But what has actually kept me busy like hell? Working as a volunteer for a week?(A bit, but I enjoyed it. =D) homework?(Yeah), Biology project?(Definitely), wasting my time onlining?(Oh yeah~ haha).
So,  I think I can conclude that I've wasted my holiday without doing any revision. T_T

As for most of this holiday(why do I have a feeling that this holiday is way too short?), I've been doing nothing but to keep myself busy making leaf samples and to make sure that moulds don't grow on them. Quite a hard task, considering the humid weather here. Man, I seriously need a heater/dryer for that. Well, as for In Sin, she's quite occupied too, having to do the insect samples. Good luck, girl! Luckily we have other members in our group, Yeng and Pong with their leaf samples from other countries(Imported leaves weyyy~), YM with her Chinese citrus and HK. The only thing I hope for now is that our project will come out fine. God, please help us!!!

A few days ago I went to church for a movie night. The title of the movie was 《小雨》. I've tried to search for the movie in the Net but to no avail, at least for now. But I'll certainly post it up if I happened to chance upon it. Of course, if you can find it, do watch it. It is a heart warming story about a reporter who lost his little girl in a car accident and his wife ended up in a coma with a slim chance of waking up again. He was feeling so upset that he nearly lost his job. He couldn't even bring himself to forgive his neighbour. The one day, he met a little girl living in a village in China when he was to snap some landscape photos for the newspaper. She looked so similar to his deceased child. Unfortunately, the girl(小雨) had some heart complications and needed a surgery as soon as possible if she was to live. From there begins the journey of getting donations for the large sum of money needed for the surgery, whilst facing numerous obstacles. Oh course, without the help of God, miracles would not happen and things won't go on smoothly.

As a conclusion, the morale of this story is to want us to learn to forgive others and to always seek for God's help whenever good or bad, for he will always be there for us. There's one quotation in the movie hat I really like, "If you can't forgive others, how will others forgive you?"

My friends, this is a story that you can't possibly missed. Hope you guys will enjoy it. =)

And for all the ones that I loved, here's a song for all of you.

Cheng Ho Expo 2010

Cheng Ho Expo 2010, an expo that starts on the 21st Nov and ends on the 26th Nov, brings a lot of bittersweet memories to me and of course, precious experience and friends that I will never forget.

Before the official date, which was the 21st, we, the volunteers, regardless of races, have had training courses and briefings. Non of all those were really pleasant. We argued and argued and argued, especially among Chinese and Malay volunteers. All those rubbish stuffs about unfair treatments, etc came out. Truth be told, I don't really like the way those organizers (especially Malays) organize this program. They kept on giving false promises that makes us jubilant and full of hopes yet later crushed it by postponing and postponing their promises. They even gave reasons that big events like this will always have delays. My goodness, this is a big event! A reason like that certainly should not be accepted, unless it is of special case. Many times we have wanted to leave, be done with working as a volunteer, yet we persevered at the words of our Chinese volunteers' leaders. For that, I am grateful.

There were three types of pavilion, or rather, huge tents set up at the Stadium Muhammad IV, namely China Pavilion, Kelantan Pavilion and International Pavilion. Also, there were small tents for the Kelantan Local Traders and an International Food Court. Among those, China Pavilion is the largest and from what I've heard, the busiest. Part of it was because China traders were the main focus in this expo and part of  it was because a lot of Chinese volunteers were needed to be translators. Kai Li, Qian Wen, Rhu Hui and I were stationed at the China Pavilion and In Sin at the International Pavilion. Actually, QW wasn't really grouped into China Pavilion, but somehow she was transferred to there later. There was one thing I still can't get it through my mind. The organizers kept on saying that Chinese volunteers were very important in getting the translating job done in China Pavilion, as China traders can't speak Malay, but somehow a quarter or half of us were stationed at other places that were not quite necessary. The results? China Pavilion was short of translators and we were hell busy running from a booth to another, especially the last two days, where those stupid organizers wanted each and everyone of us to take only a shift, either morning or noon. Imagine 30++ volunteers tending 80++ booths. Some even got complained by the China traders for disappearing and reappearing in a booth. I even got pulled to selling mirrors and wooden puppets! Translators becoming salesmen? Not to mention poor IS was bored to death at her International Pavilion, with nothing to do but just stand. Aren't they "brilliant"? =_=

Brushing all those unpleasant stuffs aside, the bright side is still there. I worked as a translator in a Chinese Arabic calligraphy booth, along with Josephine and Qian Wen. The master, Mr. Baddrudin (毛占明), his brother-in-law, Suleiman (马维) and Mr. Qin (秦广德) were very very nice to us. The first day we met them,
they looked quite serious, yet in no time at all, we got along very well. You know, I rather stayed at the booth helping them than to become a salesman (Haha~). Mr. Baddrudin's artwork is really fascinating, with every sweep of his brush so elegant, so graceful. (He even wrote QW, Jo and me our Chinese names in Arabic, free of charge =D). I also met a lot of friends there, namely my group members, volunteers from my pavilion, other pavilions, some Malay volunteers that were so sweet, a guy named Harry, a friend from my primary school, etc. Not to mention food! During lunch break, my friends and I would be willing to walk a long way to try out all sorts of delicious foods. The Xinjiang smoked lamb meat, the Mat Salai burger, the roti cotek... Ah~ I ate till my heart's content.

Well, there are still much to say, yet time is slipping by. Even if I wanted to write everything out, I doubt the space here will be enough. All in all, I am glad for not giving up at the first place. Through this expo, God has taught me to persevere, to give and take, to learn the art of dealing with people and stuffs. Mmmm...those were the memories that I will cherished for the rest of my life. Gracias, my Lord, my friends, my family.

Life in Form 6 (5)

Just finished my year-end exam this Monday but aiyoyo...my results are hell worse! =(
Although I only got the results for P.A. 2, Maths 1 and Biology, they already showed me how worse I've did, and I certainly can't imagine what marks I'll get from other subjects. Gosh, things are really getting tougher and tougher nowadays. Gone were the days where you could just start to burn the midnight oil without much to worry, slept during classes, while away your time gossiping during free period, etc. Now, everyday, people around you keep on reminding how hard you will have to study just to get a Grade B or C. During every free period, you will get to see 50% of your classmates studying, discussing and debating about some facts, figures and all sorts of 'booky' stuffs which will only give you headaches; teachers keep on lecturing about how precious time is; parents telling you the importance of securing a good future. Oh my God, how much space have I still left to store my subjects' information if I had to take in just about everything of those things? Help me, please!

Yesterday, we were just done preserving insects. It's an individual work but luckily, it was just a practice to sharpen up your skills, so that you can do a better job in preserving 25 types of insects during the holidays. The insects we used yesterday were locust/grasshopper and housefly. Houseflies were easier to deal with as chloroform was all we need to kill it. A little dose will do. Locusts needed more time as we have to dissect it's abdomen to get rid of everything inside, mainly it's digestive system. Though Miss Yeap said it is digestive system, we can't really be specific as our specimens were too small and everything looks almost the same (I mean, yucky stuffs do looked alike, don't they?), so we just took everything out. Then we stuffed the hollow abdomen with cotton soaked in formalin, pinned it securely on the polystyrene board and put it in the oven. (Sounds cruel, isn't it? But what to do? It's compulsory.). For now, we'll just wait for a week for the specimens to dry completely. In the mean time, we have fern's samples to do and that will also have to wait for a few weeks, or rather, we will have to passed it up on the 13th of November. Actually I am not able to catch a locust for my experiment but luckily, with the help of my dear In Sin, I managed to get one, with extra houseflies. Thanks, babe *Muackz* =)

A few hours earlier, I have attended a show about the acrobat's team from China in SMCC. Aww...there was one guy from the team who was soooo handsome, and a seven-year-old boy who was so cute that you'll feel like hugging him XD. Overall, it's a remarkable show. We were awed by their flexibility, strength, etc. Recommended.

There was one thing that bothers me for now. It's about KG. Why did he keep on asking me how would I feel if he really is with C.Yee? Kanasai friend, I'm asking you questions lah, why did you ask me back and keep avoiding on telling me direct answers? =_=
Hmmm... I think next time when you ask me that stupid question again I'll ask you back. XD

R.I.P

Life in Form 6 (4)

Hello again~ =)

Now, what am I going to write in this post? Hmmm... There's nothing much that happened this two weeks, apart from a few events. Last Saturday, all Form Six students went to SMK Tanjung Chat (which just opened) to receive the wang ehsan, some sort of money given by the government, which is RM 200. As there were also other schools which could received this money, this ceremony was divided into a few sessions, which included the primary and secondary school. My school was in the morning with 2 other schools; SIC and SMK Ahmad Maher. For your information, there were 275 students (Upper and Lower Six) from SMCH, 50 students from SMK Ahmad Maher and 45 from SIC. Can you imagined that??? Ha! Actually, according to Mr. Lim, SIC and AM only have one stream whereas CH comprises two types of streams provided (Science and Arts), So that's why there were so many students from CH. Next, the usual style: speeches given, money given(actually it's just an envelope, the money will be banked into our account automatically), THE END. But there's one thing that I'll remember, which is what Dato Fatmi said in his speech, "Aku ingat mu ore cino semua kayo-kayo belako, mana tau semua layok jugok ambik wang ehsan ni..." Aiya...

Ok, enough of that, I don't want to be a racist. Fast forward to this week, let's see... Oh ya, MUET test. Speaking about that, mine will be this coming Monday, 18th. Right now I feel...nothing. Really. This MUET test started on 12th, and on that day, one-third of my classmate went for the test. Today (14th) is also the test day, and with that, three-quarters of my classmate were absent! Gosh, my class was left with only 10 students! Sin and Tong went for the test today, too. So basically I'm alone... Hmm... I wonder how well have they done today? Good Luck!!!

Oh ya... I nearly forget, something funny and surprising happened today. Whenever I think about this, *beh tahan* I wanted to laugh XD. During Chemistry class, KG really surprised me. Here's a sketch of the conversation:
KG: Eh, Y didn't believed that we are already together.
Me: What? *amte*
KG: She didn't believe that we are couples.
Me: .............Oh (I sensed what message he's trying to convey)... Aiya, never mind, you know I know is already sufficient, others need not to know, as what matters is the heart.
KG: Okay...

And because it all come out of a sudden, Y just couldn't believed it, and she kept asking us to do the couple stuffs, like holding hands, and If-I-Touched-Him-Will-You-Be-Jealous thingy, etc. Bullshit. And then QW told me something that Y said, which, unfortunately, I can't disclose it here. It'll be too obvious. Actually, you can see that everything is just a bluff. LMAO.

Well, I think that's all for now. Good night.

Life in Form 6 (3)

Ok, I think it's time for me to get serious again and start to post something more readable rather than the last two rubbish posts.

Ok, let's start from last Saturday. In case I haven't told you, I am finally free from my braces! Yippee!!! But heck, now I'm stuck with retainers for another couple of years (roughly). Though it's kind of restraining my speech, I think it'll be fine, because it's detachable! Haha!! And my teeth looks straighter and more compact. XD

School life? Sigh...Pretty much the same, yet it's more stressful. Right now I still have half a month left before the year-end examination and if I can't get a better result I'll have to "roll" right back to SB class, which I'm kind of reluctant. I don't know why. Sometimes I don't know where am I supposed to start, and especially when I saw my classmates all studying, I feel lost. They have their target, yet me? I'm back to my old self, the lazy one. Hopefully someone can wake me up before it's too late and oh, thank God, I have friends that always help me with my studies. =)

On Sunday we'll have to move back to our actual classroom, which is situated way up on the highest floor, roughly two floors above the staffroom, either the fourth of fifth floor, I'm not really sure. Awww...it's really high. Anyway, to rid off the stubborn fats from my abdomen, I'm willing to, I just hope that my class won't be too hot. Aiya, you know why, and I won't be telling much here.

During this whole week we've just had a wave of singing craze. CY wanted to join a singing competition but she just can't really decide on one song, though now I think she already had. Plus, some gang in my class has started to sing, which is quite an entertainment (XD), and if I'm not wrong, Onion is going to participate too. Well, I hope both of them can make it. Good luck!!!

Oh ya, I nearly forget. There'll be a Chemistry test on Sunday and hopefully I won't fail terribly, you know how much my brain memory sucks, right? LOL.
